SUZUKI BALENO 1.8 GSR 2000 X REG Hi up for sale is my suzuki baleno bought this car in september as a little run around. i no longer need the car as i ...> have just bought a 4 door car. the car drives nice and starts first time every time. it has mot untill may and road tax till end of this month. the mileage is just under 66.000 ( will go up a bit as car is in daily use ). the service book is part stamped and there is paper work showing the rest of the service history. there was 1 advisory on last mot and this was front brake pads which i have had done when i bought the car. since the last mot the car has done just over 2000 miles so very little use, and when it had its last mot it had a major service. i have all the mot`s from 2003 and other bits of paper work. i no there is not a lot of Baleno`s around and there is some good Baleno member clubs. the car is not mint as it is over 10 years old but it is in very good condition for year, it has BBS alloy wheels and the spare is the same as the rest, all the tyres are in good cond, the wheels could do with a slight refurb but thats your choice, i dont think they look to bad. the engine is standard with no mods, and the same with the interior. overall its a nice clean little car and the only reason for selling is i need a 4 door car. so if you are looking for that something a litte bit different from the rest this might be just for you. now the boring bit. anyone with less than 10 pos feedback to contact me first before bidding or bid will be removed. no shipping over sea`s. cannot deliver, payment cash on collection, the car is addvertised else where so can be withdrawn anytime. there is no reserve and if you bid you bid to buy not kick tyres, any test drive welcom but if you want to drive please bring proof of insurance showing cover to drive my car. if you buy this car and do not pay i will put a claim in for cost against you. well thanks for looking and happy new year. For sale i have my suzuki baleno 1.6 gs. It is the `storm` edition with side skirts, front and rear skirts and spoiler. I bought this car as a run around ...> while i was having work done on my main car which is now done so i no longer need this. The car comes with 15" alloy wheels whith good tyres all round. Performance air filter, full stainless exhaust and performance ecu. I also have a folder of receipts and mot`s with the car. 1,395 mm (54.9 in) The Suzuki Esteem is an export nameplate for the Suzuki Cultus Crescent — also marketed in Europe, Australia and many Asian countries as the Suzuki Baleno — manufactured by Suzuki Motor Corporation. In India, it was manufactured by Maruti Suzuki and sold as the Maruti Baleno. 1996 Suzuki Esteem sedan (North America) The Esteem was introduced in the global market in the first half of 1995 as Suzuki's first attempt in the compact segment, at the time dominated by European cars such as the Volkswagen Golf and Opel Astra, and Japanese models such as the Nissan Sunny/Sentra and Toyota Corolla. As a North American replacement for the Suzuki Swift sedan (the 3-door hatchback remained after it was redesigned in 1995), it was built on a slightly stretched Suzuki Cultus platform for improved cabin room, but otherwise sharing most of internal components with the smaller model — and marketed as a distinct model.
The Esteem/Baleno was initially available as a 3-door hatchback and 4-door sedan, with 1.3 L (hatch only) and 1.6 L engines, with power ranging from 85 to 99 PS (63 to 73 kW; 84 to 98 hp). In 1996, the lineup was extended with the Esteem Wagon (Baleno Break in most European markets and Baleno Altura in India), Suzuki's first station wagon, also with the same 1.6 L, which also received optional 4WD in the two larger body variants.
Suzuki restyled the Esteem/Baleno in 1999. The car was given a new frontend, with a rounder grille and new headlights, and the engine lineup was expanded to include Suzuki's J18A chain-driven DOHC that was fitted to the sedan and wagon. In North America, the Esteem 1.8 Station Wagon completely replaced the Esteem 1.6, but in most markets the 1.8 sedan became the sports model. In some European markets, the 1.8 L I4 was installed in the hatchback and sold as the limited edition Baleno GTi. Europe also gained a Diesel version, with a 75 PS (55 kW; 74 hp) XUD engine supplied by Peugeot.
The Esteem/Baleno was replaced in most markets by the new Aerio/Liana, which was launched in 2001. It was pulled from the market in Europe and North American in 2002, after one year of overlapping. The car remained available in many developing countries, including India and Southeast Asia, where it was sold until 2007, when production stopped at the Maruti factory, with the assembly line giving way to the SX4 Sedan. My chance to ride this car came with two other Suzuki officials who were taking a demo car to a small town. A distance of 270 km was covered in just under 3 hours which is no mean feat on Indian roads. The air-con was on throughout and in spite of outside temp being around the 45 degree celsius mark, the car was cool unlike most estates. The car comes in a 94 BHP variant in India and gave us about 12-13 kpl during this journey. The fit and finish was a little tacky with cheap switchgear and no-frills seats. The boot was simply huge with over 900 litres of space. Used as a two seater, the luggage area nearly doubles. Drive was smooth although third gear was a little elusive (5-speed manual).
